**Job Description**
Aston University’s Energy & Bioproducts Research Institute (EBRI) seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) for the UK-Saudi Waste2Energy project, a Gulf Strategy Fund-funded initiative aimed at strengthening UK-Saudi collaboration in sustainable waste management, biochar technology, and behavioural change policy. The role involves research, coordination, and international engagement, focusing on developing bilingual market reports, planning major events in Riyadh, coordinating a technology exchange visit, and managing project monitoring and reporting. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a project at the intersection of research, policy, and international collaboration, gaining experience in managing a complex bilateral programme and authoring policy-impactful outputs.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Proven experience in producing high-quality research outputs, such as policy or market reports
• Experience in project management in multi-partner or international contexts
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Willingness to travel internationally
• Knowledge of waste valorisation or biochar technology (advantage)
• Experience of SME or B2B engagement (advantage)
• Familiarity with UK-Gulf collaborations (advantage)
• Arabic language skills or experience working with bilingual outputs (desirable)

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Environmental Engineering
• Chemical Engineering
• Sustainability
• Policy Studies
• Circular Economy
• Relevant discipline (PhD or close to completion)
