**Job Description**
This Postdoctoral Researcher position involves assisting and supervising experiments at field sites and labs located at FSU. The role supports a research grant from NC Innovations focused on testing the efficacy and safety of a novel pesticide developed at FSU. Responsibilities include hands-on work with poultry, analyzing pesticide residues, and determining safety and efficacy/metabolism in commercial poultry environments.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Knowledge of poultry behavior, welfare, or nutrition research.
• Hands-on experience in poultry science, specifically handling and sampling of live poultry (broilers, layers, and breeders).
• Strong background in animal handling, poultry husbandry.
• Analytical chemistry techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).
• Proficiency in HPLC operation, method development, and quantification of pesticide residues and metabolites.
• Strong data analysis and scientific writing/oral skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in field and lab environments.
• Familiarity with EPA or USDA residue study protocols and required toxicity tests.
• Previous experience/publications involving HPLC pesticide residue analysis or avian models.
