**Job Description**
The Center for Interacting Urban Networks (CITIES) at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher for a project focused on the Center’s research theme, Uncertainty. The role involves building foundational or applied systems capable of handling uncertain or incomplete data prevalent in urban decision-making scenarios. The successful candidate will lead independent computational research, bridging applications and fundamental theory, and collaborate with other researchers across center themes to contribute to a comprehensive understanding of urban systems.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Experience in building systems (foundational or applied) that can handle uncertain or incomplete data prevalent in urban decision-making scenarios.
• Capacity to lead independent research.
• Ability to drive foundational computational research work from applications and vice versa.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other researchers.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Risk analysis or minimization
• Robust optimization
• Deep learning for systems
• Probabilistic data management
• Decision-making in uncertain environments
**Experience**
Other:
• PhD dissertation or research papers demonstrating a strong interest and research focus in the listed prerequisite areas.
• Recognised Researcher (R2) or Established Researcher (R3) profile.
