**Job Description**
The successful candidate will perform multi-physics and multi-scale simulations for drone components using finite element tools. This role involves supporting the development of an AI-assisted simulation framework, participating in early-stage lightweight drone design concepts, and collaborating with an international consortium on integrated design and optimization activities. Responsibilities also include contributing to technical reporting and disseminating research results.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong academic background in computational mechanics, fluid dynamics, electromagnetics, or multi-physics simulation.
• Proficiency with commercial simulation tools such as Abaqus and Comsol Multiphysics.
• Familiarity with multi-scale or coupled field analysis (e.g., structural-electromagnetic, fluid-structure).
• Understanding of drone flight dynamics and mission-based performance analysis.
• Programming skills in Python, C++, or equivalent for simulation preprocessing/postprocessing.
• (Desirable) Exposure to reduced-order modelling, multi-disciplinary optimization or AI-based surrogate modelling techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
• Proactive mindset and ability to work in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.
• Adaptability and openness to learn new tools and methods.
• Fluency in English (and French), both oral and and written.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Aerospace Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Applied Physics
• Closely related discipline
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Ideally 3-5 years of experience (including Ph.D.) in one or more of the following: Finite Element Modelling (FEM), Multiphysics simulations, Preliminary aircraft or drone design.
Other:
• Experience in applied research or technology development projects is considered an asset.
