**Job Description**
The Delft University of Technology is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for a two-year contract to advance robot learning in shared control with a human operator. The primary objective is to develop and evaluate methods for teleoperation of single and swarm robots through human-machine interfaces, creating a shared control system that arbitrates authority between human operators and a continuously learning robot intelligence. Key applications to be examined include swarm drones performing complex maneuvers and robotic arms executing delicate physical interaction tasks. The project is partially funded by an NWO KIC grant focused on swarm technology for military and first responder operations. The role offers opportunities for academic career growth, including mentoring MSc students, conference presentations, networking, and teaching.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong experience with robot learning and control
• Strong interest in the teleoperation of various types of robots
• Proficiency with at least one programming language (e.g., C++, Python, Matlab)
• Good written and oral communication skills in English
