**Job Description**
The postdoctoral scholar will research the biomechanics of host-pathogen interactions that underlie infectious endocarditis, specifically focusing on oral streptococci and their role in this life-threatening infection of heart valves. The role involves leading investigations into bacteria-blood cell interactions using advanced techniques, collaborating on microfluidics research, and potentially working with animal models of streptococcal sepsis and endocarditis. This is a multi-PI collaborative project.

• Experience in bacterial culture and blood cell isolation (plus).
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Microbiology
• Cell Biology
• Biochemistry
• Bioengineering/Biomedical Engineering
• Biophysics
• Related fields
**Experience**
Other:
• PhD (or other foreign equivalent) at the time of hire.
• 1 or more years of experience in flow cytometry experiments and analysis.
