**Job Description**
This postdoctoral scholar position within KTH’s Division of light and matter, part of the Applied Physics department, focuses on experimental research in the Quantum Matter group. The primary goal is to study electronic structure and ultrafast dynamics, down to the femtosecond scale, in quantum materials such as topological materials and superconductors. The research heavily utilizes a newly commissioned time and angle resolved photoemission spectrometer (tr-ARPES) with an HHG source to map electronic band structures following ultrafast excitations. The role also involves developing new spectroscopic techniques for high-temperature superconductivity and collaboration with national and international synchrotron light sources and external research groups.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Demonstrated scientific excellence through publication of research in leading scientific journals.
• Good communication skills.
• Good command of English in writing and speaking.
• Strong motivation for postdoctoral studies.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to perform critical analysis.
• Good levels of cooperative and communicative abilities.
• Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality (preferred).
• Teaching abilities (preferred).
• Emphasis on personal skills.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Experimental physics
• Similar degree (to doctoral degree in experimental physics)
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Research experience with quantum materials.
• Research experience with laser or synchrotron based APRES.
Other:
• 4 – 10 years of research experience (general for Physics/Chemistry fields).
• Experience with femtosecond lasers, HHG and/or time resolved spectroscopy experiments (merit).
• Experience from experiments at large scale facilities (merit).
• Doctoral degree obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline (preferred).
