Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences and Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences

**Job Description**
The University of Washington’s Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences (I-LABS) has an opening for a postdoctoral researcher experienced with EEG and interested in behavioral and neural development, with an emphasis on social interaction during early childhood in both typical and atypical (autism spectrum disorders) populations. The collaborative team focuses on face-to-face interaction between children and their parents, employing various methods to measure neural and behavioral responses during live social interaction and their relation to developmental language and social outcomes. This project includes studies across two different locations, primarily Seattle with required travel and time spent in Riverside, California.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Expertise in EEG acquisition, signal processing and data analysis
• Experience coding, preferably with Python
• Experience in child development research, particularly early language acquisition, social interaction, and social motivation
• Willingness to travel and spend time at both Seattle and Riverside locations
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Developmental Psychology
• Speech and Hearing
• Neuroscience

**Experience**
Other:
• Experience with EEG data acquisition and analysis
• Previous experience working with infants or pre-teens
• Experience in child development research (early language acquisition, social interaction, social motivation)

Full-time Duration: 12 months, with possible renewal Remote Work: No (Requires presence at Seattle and Riverside locations) Location Requirement: Relocation to Riverside, CA for a few months a year required. Campus-based (Seattle, WA primary; Riverside, CA secondary)
