**Job Description**
The Department of Psychiatry – Cruchaga Lab seeks a Research Assistant to support research studies, experiments, material preparation, and documentation. Responsibilities include conducting experiments, evaluating research results, data entry, coordinating lab materials, ensuring safety, and assisting with project coordination and literature research.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Good understanding of computational biology, probabilistic models, statistics, machine learning, and discrete mathematics (Preferred).
• Ability to analyze and interpret large complex data sets, such as genome sequences, microarray gene expression studies, human genetic studies, model organism studies.
• Ability to communicate data in a clear, concise manner.
• Expertise in standard bioinformatics tools (Preferred).
• Proficiency in scientific programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Perl, Java) in a UNIX/Linux and/or Windows environment (Preferred).
