**Job Description**
The Department of Psychiatry – Cruchaga Lab is seeking a Research Assistant to assist with research studies, experiments, material preparation, and documentation. The role involves conducting and evaluating research experiments, maintaining data files, coordinating lab resources, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Good understanding of computational biology, probabilistic models, statistics, machine learning, and discrete mathematics (Preferred).
• Ability to analyze and interpret large complex data sets (e.g., genome sequences, microarray gene expression studies, human genetic studies, model organism studies) and to communicate data in a clear, concise manner (Preferred).
• Expertise in standard bioinformatics tools (Preferred).
• Proficiency in scientific programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Perl, Java) in a UNIX/Linux and/or Windows environment (Preferred).
