**Job Description**
The University of Sydney is seeking two part-time Research Assistants for the Community Paediatrics Research Group, which is part of the Central Clinical School. These positions support the MRFF-funded EPIC-ND project, a mixed-methods, multi-site randomized controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of social prescribing for parents/carers of children with neurodisability. The roles involve close collaboration with university, NSW Health, and community partners, working directly with children (0-18 years) with neurodisability and their families to enhance child health, well-being, and development, build equitable health systems, and study health disparities.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Demonstrated superior interpersonal communication skills, including with people with lived experience of neurodisability, to initiate and maintain effective stakeholder relationships whilst exercising discretion and confidentiality
• Excellent time management skills, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demand
• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Health
• Allied Health
• Psychology
• Other relevant discipline
**Experience**
Other:
• Knowledge, experience, and understanding of the health and social care needs of priority populations, including people with lived experience of neurodisability
• Experience working with and/or supporting people with chronic and complex health conditions, including people with lived experience of neurodisability (preferred)
• Knowledge of research protocols, experimental design and planning involved in developing research projects and reporting against milestones
• Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including REDCap, NVIVO, and Excel
• Valid work rights for Australia
• Completion of NSW Health employment requirements (regulatory requirement for positions on NSW Health sites)
• Working with Children Check clearance
