**Job Description**
The Research Assistant will contribute to research within children’s social care and parental alcohol use, specifically for the CASCADCADE Centre. Key duties involve conducting a rapid literature review, preparing and analysing administrative data sets within the SAIL Databank, and performing administrative tasks. This role also involves supporting research group activities, public involvement, publications, funding bids, and maintaining specialist knowledge.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Knowledge and experience of quantitative research methods and techniques.
• Experience using statistical software packages such as STATA, R, or others.
• Knowledge and understanding of competitive research funding.
• Proven ability to analyse complex information and summarise appropriately.
• Proven communication skills, including presentation to various audiences.
• Excellent organisational and team-working skills.
• Proven ability to demonstrate creativity, innovation and teamworking.
• Proven ability to work without close supervision.
• Proven ability to adapt to the changing requirements of the Higher Education community.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Social science
• Social work
• Social policy
**Experience**
Other:
• A degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Postgraduate degree at PhD level (or nearing completion/submission) in a related subject area or relevant industrial experience (desirable).
• Experience using administrative data sets (e.g. The SAIL Databank) (desirable).
• Evidence of collaborations with industry (desirable).
