**Job Description**
The Roy Wilkins Center at the University of Minnesota is seeking a Research Assistant to support its projects focused on quantitative analyses of racial and ethnic economic inequality. This includes research on drowning disparities, health inequities, and racial disparities in cannabis business ownership. The role involves data investigation, validation, and contributing to both internal and external research reports, under the supervision of Dr. Samuel L. Myers, Jr.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Experience with econometric tools of analysis
• Programming experience (SAS, R, STATA, Python)
• Eligibility for certification using restricted CDC data sets
• Research interests related to social justice and disparate impacts of public policy
• Cross-cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people
• Creativity, enthusiasm, positive attitude, and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently, manage deadlines, and pick up new skills and areas of expertise
