**Job Description**
The purpose of this role is to work within Dr. Andrew McKenzie’s group at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) to investigate type-2 immunity in health and disease. This involves supporting research into the molecular circuits that regulate immune cell function in disease models, utilizing techniques such as CRISPR-screens, single-cell analysis, and novel genetically modified mouse models, building upon recent breakthroughs in the field.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Basic bench work skills.
• Experience or theoretical knowledge of basic molecular biology skills/techniques (e.g., PCR, gene cloning).
• Cell culture experience.
• Tissue processing experience.
• Western blot experience.
• Previous experience in the field of immunology or haematopoiesis (desirable).
• Practical experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR, gene cloning, DNA/RNA extraction, primer and probe design), cell culture, FACS, and/or fluorescence microscopy (desirable).
• Ability to plan and carry out experiments, collate, and analyse data.
• Understanding of lab health and safety.
• Practical experience of running and maintaining scientific equipment (desirable).
• Proven skills in working independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Good judgment in assessing when to ask for support.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience of giving presentations (desirable).
• Contributions to scientific papers (desirable).
• Reliability and enthusiasm.
• Strong organisational skills; methodical and thorough.
• Passion for science and a desire to continue to develop skills and knowledge.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biology
• Biochemistry
• Related subject
