**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong background in electromagnetic and optical modeling using tools including Ansys, Comsol, Matlab, and other methods
• Expertise in wet chemical synthesis, experimental sensor fabrication, and testing using the optical fiber sensing platform
• Optical instrumentation and interrogation
• Strong interest in basic and applied research
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team structure, delivering project components on given time schedules
• Ability to multitask
