Research Assistant (Quantum Information Theory)

**Job Description**
The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) at the National University of Singapore is seeking a Research Assistant to join the research group of Professor Marco Tomamichel. The project focuses on utilizing semiring techniques, particularly the theory of asymptotic spectra, to identify quantum or classical relative entropies and other entropic quantities relevant in tasks related to large-sample and catalytic majorization of classical or quantum statistical experiments. The ideal candidate will be familiar with real-algebraic methods to actively contribute to this project. CQT brings together physicists, computer scientists, and engineers to conduct basic research in quantum physics and develop devices based on quantum phenomena, applying these discoveries in computing, communications, and sensing within a friendly, international work environment.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Familiarity with real-algebraic methods described.
• Strong mathematical background, in particular affinity with real-algebraic techniques utilized in this project.
• Proved capacity of working with co-workers.
• Strong communication and writing skills.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Mathematics
• (Mathematical) Physics
• Computer Science

**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Academic research in a closely related field.
• Experience as a teaching assistant for university-level courses.
