**Job Description**
The Research Assistant assists and carries out experimental studies and data analytics within the research lab, focusing on brain disease models and behavioral patterns. This role involves supporting senior research staff with advancing experimental studies, data analysis, maintaining records, and assisting with neural techniques. The position may require travel and working on weekends or after normal hours.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
• Experience in animal care.
• Ability to help senior researchers with brain paradigms and data collection.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret EEG recording and behavior tests.
• Ability to organize, conduct and report pharmacological studies and experiments.
• Experience working with EEG studies, data compilation and analysis.
• Ability to read temporo-spatial progression of seizures and behavioral patterns.
• Ability to help research staff with advancing experimental studies and support with neural techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus, and computer equipment.
• Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
• Attention to detail.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Relevant field (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Preferred:
• Biological sciences (Bachelor of Science)
• Biomedical sciences (Bachelor of Science)
• Neuroscience (Bachelor of Science)
