**Job Description**
The Department of Chemistry at King’s College London is seeking a passionate and creative postdoctoral researcher to join the Cobb group. This role focuses on synthetic organic chemistry within a project dedicated to designing powerful modular asymmetric catalysts inspired by natural helices. The successful candidate will design and execute the synthesis of novel foldamer catalysts and apply them to various stereoselective processes, including organocatalytic and photocatalytic reactions, while collaborating with academic staff and other researchers.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Organic Chemistry
• Synthetic Organic Chemistry
• Related field (PhD or pending results)
**Experience**
Other:
• Extensive experience in small molecule (multi-step) synthesis
• Extensive experience in solid phase peptide synthesis
• Experience in multistep synthetic chemistry
• Experience in separation and characterisation of small to medium sized molecules
• Experience in key spectroscopic techniques
• Strong record of publication in relevant and peer-reviewed journals
• Demonstrated track record of high-quality research
• Desirable: Experience in asymmetric synthesis and the determination of enantiomeric excess
• Desirable: Experience in using/applying density functional theory (DFT)
• Desirable: Evidence of independent funding
