**Job Description**
This position focuses on analyzing the metabolic homeostasis of the central nervous system, specifically investigating how neural metabolism in *Drosophila* adapts to suboptimal conditions like malnutrition. The project, funded by DFG and led by Dr. Ioannis Nellas, will delve into adaptations in nutrient uptake, transport, glia-neuron metabolic interactions, and their underlying regulatory mechanisms, ultimately aiming to enhance the understanding of neurodegenerative diseases. The successful candidate will specifically investigate the metabolic connection between neural stem cells and their glial niche.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Experience in cell or molecular biology
• Knowledge of Drosophila genetics
• Knowledge of live imaging

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biology
• Biochemistry/Biophysics

• Very good MSc or equivalent degree
• Able to relocate for 6 months to a collaborator in Chile
