**Job Description**
The successful applicant will contribute to the NIHR School for Social Care Research funded project, “Hidden Costs of Hospital Discharge: Understanding the costs and outcomes associated with Hospital Discharge from the perspective of people, carers and local authorities.” The primary aim is to identify and estimate the hidden costs associated with hospital discharge for older people, family members, and local authorities, and to explore circumstances where these costs are high or avoidable. The post-holder will gather and analyse qualitative and quantitative data, undertake project management and administration, disseminate findings, and potentially contribute to future research funding bids within a multidisciplinary team.

• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and accessibly to non-academic audiences.
• Track record and commitment to working in compliance with data protection regulations, respecting and maintaining confidentiality.
• Effective time management, IT literacy, and organisation skills.
• Willingness to travel within England to conduct research interviews and engage with stakeholder groups.
• Experience of conducting qualitative research (interviews and analysis) (Desirable).
• Knowledge of how to conduct bottom-up economic costing (Desirable).
• Knowledge and experience of the health and/or social care sectors (Desirable).
• Experience of communicating effectively with vulnerable adults in a respectful and inclusive way (Desirable).
