**Job Description**
Applications are invited for a Research Fellow to join Dr. Richard Meek’s group to investigate the role of protein machinery in brain calcification. This MRC-funded project employs a multidisciplinary approach, utilizing mass spectrometry, microscopy, and cell-based assays to understand how dysfunctional carbohydrate-processing contributes to disease. The position offers significant potential for advancing the molecular understanding of brain signaling and neurological disorders.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Experience in tissue culture
• Experience in proteomic methodologies including data collection, processing, and interpretation
• Experience in cell-based techniques
• Strong organisational skills
• Good statistical and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent written and verbal English
• Experience in neurobiology and/or glycobiology (useful but not essential)
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biology
• Chemistry
• Related discipline

Other:
• PhD (or near completion) where experience in proteomic methodologies has been gained to understand biological questions.
• Previous experience in tissue culture and proteomics including data collection, processing and interpretation is essential.
