**Job Description**
The Research Fellow will join the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) to assist the Principal Investigator (PI) on a sponsored project. The role focuses on additive manufacturing of metallic components, and conducting detailed microstructural and mechanical property studies on the printed parts. Responsibilities include various characterization techniques, scientific report writing, publication, and mentoring MSc and FYP students.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Proficiency in unnotched fatigue, fracture toughness, and fatigue crack growth property measurements
• Familiarity with Ti and other advanced alloys, experimental characterization of fracture and fatigue and other mechanical properties
• Highly competent in microstructural characterization techniques such as SEM, TEM, EBSD, nanoindentation
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently / develop solutions under strict timelines
• Meticulous and eye for details
• Excellent organizational / time management skills
• Ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Possesses international experience, with a strong network of contacts in the region

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Materials Science & Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

**Experience**
Experience Required:
• At least 2 years of relevant post-Ph.D. hands-on experience in advanced alloys and their microstructural and mechanical property characterization
Other:
• Demonstrated expertise in high level research through a good scientific publication record, especially in standard journals of the research area
• At least one or more papers in Acta Materialia as the first author is a must
