**Job Description**
A non-tenure-line Researcher position is available in Dr. Shyam Bansal’s laboratory at the Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Heart and Vascular Institute. The successful candidate will study the interactions between estrogen receptors and novel drug molecules, focusing on their role in T-cell activation and inflammatory immune responses that mediate cardiovascular diseases. This research employs multidisciplinary approaches, including wet lab techniques (ligand assays, western blotting, cloning) and dry lab techniques (computational modeling, docking, and drug designing), as well as human and animal studies utilizing imaging and electrophysiologic techniques like flow cytometry, vesicular analysis, and echocardiography.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Effective knowledge of lab practices and procedures in animal handling, dissection, Western blotting, PCR, fluorescence imaging, sub-cloning, and transfection.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, coordinating and communicating effectively with the Principal Investigator (PI).
• Ability to develop and implement laboratory policies and update standard operating procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for manuscript and grant preparation.
• Innovation and problem-solving skills to optimize experimental procedures requiring novel approaches.
• Experience with in-vivo and in-vitro models of inflammation testing.
• Expertise in computational methods of drug design and docking.
• Experience with cell culture techniques and demonstrated ability to isolate and culture primary cells.
• Ability to analyze collected data and present results in formal presentations, manuscripts, and grant applications.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Molecular Biology
• Doctoral Degree
