**Job Description**
The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Department of Plant and Soil Sciences, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant. This role involves coordinating and implementing research experiments focused on monitoring nitrogen balance and nutrient losses from grain crop rotations. Responsibilities include collecting field experimental data, specifically measuring nitrous oxide emissions, nitrogen leaching, and soil inorganic nitrogen. The assistant will also develop new methodologies and sampling protocols, identify research needs, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in data collection, sample processing, and data analysis software usage. Further duties involve developing and implementing lab protocols for data generation, processing, and storage, maintaining laboratory equipment, summarizing data for project reports, and presenting findings at national meetings. The position requires the ability to work outdoors in various conditions.

**Qualifications**
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Previous experience processing imaging data from unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (desired)
• Previous experience conducting agronomic field experiments (preferred but not required)
• Previous experience in laboratory or data management
Other:
• Driver’s License
• Ability to work outside in all conditions
