**Job Description**
The Temporary Research Assistant will conduct experiments focused on the genetic causes of congenital muscular dystrophy (CMD) associated with brain malformations and intellectual disability, utilizing zebrafish animal husbandry. This role contributes to a larger lab effort in developing zebrafish models for screening therapeutic approaches, involving the maintenance and analysis of CMD zebrafish models and collaborative experimental work under the guidance of the Principal Investigator. The position also offers training in experimental design and presentation skills.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biomedical discipline
• Psychology
**Experience**
Other:
• Must pass employee health clearance, TB test and required safety and animal training.
• Must be able to perform laboratory research and work with zebrafish.
