**Job Description**
The Visiting Researcher (VR) at the Child Health Institute of NJ will conduct and analyze experiments focusing on the development and function of novel immune cells, specifically innate immunity in vital tissues like the lung and brain, and its influence on airway and brain disorders. The VR will utilize rodent models and molecular/cellular biology techniques, manage mouse colonies, assist with ongoing research projects, oversee lab resources, participate in scientific discussions, prepare manuscripts, and contribute to grant applications while also seeking personal grant funding.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong interests in exploring novel immune cells and the mechanisms of human health and disease.
• Experience in conducting and analyzing scientific experiments involving rodent models.
• Experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques, such as genotyping, survival surgery, histology, microscopy, electrophysiology, calcium imaging, or coding.
• Ability to maintain a high level of research competency, knowledge, and skills.
• Ability to participate in lab meetings, research in progress seminars, and presentations at conferences.
• Ability to prepare manuscripts based on research.
• Ability to aid in developing the PI’s grant applications and apply for personal grant funding.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Related field (Ph.D, DVM, or MD)

Other:
• Must be able to work in a laboratory environment.
• Must be able to perform laboratory research.
• Must pass employee health clearance, TB Test and required safety training.
• Must follow all safety precautions in laboratory.
